چکیده
The forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii) is an endangered artiodactyl species. Males have a gland that secretes musk. Musk the raw material for many medicines and has high economic value. In recent years, because of impacts illegal trade habitat fragmentation, wild nearly been driven to extinction, it listed as key protected animal by countries. Since 2002, Chinese government populations first-class nationally animals conducted artificial breeding studies. this article, we review summarise biological characteristics protective measures deer, synthesis mechanisms factors influencing yield. We also discuss problems facing conservation development musk-related medicines.

Recombination and selection in the major histocompatibility complex of the endangered forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii).
The forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii) is a high elevation species distributed across western China and northern Vietnam. Once abundant, habitat loss and poaching has led to a dramatic decrease in population numbers prompting the IUCN to list the species as endangered. Here, we characterized the genetic diversity of a Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) locus and teased apart driving fac...

متن کاملStructure of mitochondrial DNA control region and genetic diversity of Moschus berezovskii populations in Shaanxi Province.
In China, Moschus berezovskii (forest musk deer), a first-class national protected animal, was earlier widely distributed. However, wild populations of the forest musk deer have declined because of human activity and habitat loss. In order to gather useful information for its conservation and management, we investigated the genetic diversity and population structure of this species by analyzing...
متن کاملPhylogenetic study of complete cytochrome b genes in musk deer (genus Moschus) using museum samples.
As an endangered animal group, musk deer (genus Moschus) are not only a great concern of wildlife conservation, but also of special interest to evolutionary studies due to long-standing arguments on the taxonomic and phylogenetic associations in this group. Using museum samples, we sequenced complete mitochondrial cytochrome b genes (1140 bp) of all suggested species of musk deer in order to re...
متن کاملStable fighting strategies to maintain social ranks in captive male Alpine musk deer (Moschus sifanicus).
This study was conducted at the XINGLONGSHAN Musk Deer Farm of China from July to September 2008. Results showed that captive male musk deer exhibit aggressive dominance behavior, by which a stable social ranking is established. Generally, there were three types of aggression in agonistic interactions among males: attacking, displacing and threatening. Threatening was more frequently observed t...
